We budget for high-level countertop selections in high-traffic areas like the kitchen and master bathroom, while mid-tier options are reserved for secondary bathrooms and kitchenettes. You have the final choice, working with our countertop design team to select from Level 1 (lowest) to Level 4 (highest) options. All countertops are installed with careful consideration of layout, following NKBA recommended design standards.

Bathrooms

Our bathrooms are designed with your needs in mind. We use cabinetry tailored to your space, offer custom tile options, and carefully place plumbing fixtures for optimal use. Stone slab showers, a favorite among our clients, are complemented by custom glass paneling and doors. We budget for a bathroom that provides comfort and enjoyment every day.

Custom Cabinetry

Our cabinet packages include full overlay shaker-style cabinets with a painted finish and 42" upper cabinets with crown molding.Our cabinets feature dovetail drawers with full extension and soft-close mechanisms, framed construction, pull-out shelves, and shoe mold trim.

Selections and Finishes

We offer a variety of flooring styles, including hardwood, vinyl, carpet, tile, and gym floors. Our team will guide you in selecting the right option that fits your family's needs and seamlessly complements your space. Flooring options are categorized from Level 1 to Level 5, providing choices to match different preferences and budgets. All flooring is installed by specialized trade partners, ensuring a quality finish.

Energy Efficient Design

Our framing techniques, quality insulation, and air sealing ensure efficient temperature control. We also implement water saving plumbing fixtures, LED lighting, and efficient windows, doors and appliances to minimize energy waste.

Our custom porch and deck designs make your outdoor spaces as enjoyable as the inside of your home. We choose products with your comfort in mind, like Azek PVC decking that stays cooler than Trex. We also offer high-finish ceilings, aluminum powder-coated railings, safe stair designs, and thoughtful layouts for lighting and heaters.

Pools and Hot Tubs

We design and build custom pools and hot tubs that enhance your outdoor living space, creating a perfect retreat for year-round enjoyment. Partnering with local vendors and installers, this becomes one of the most enjoyable parts of the preconstruction and construction phases, right up to the final splash.

  • Selections: Choose your flooring, tiles, countertops, cabinetry, lighting, and plumbing fixtures with our local vendors and design team.

The Commonwealth Contractors Building Process

We emphasize a team-like approach, involving clients in the process through weekly updates and daily logs. It's important to us that we understand our client's vision and create a clear and simple narrative for any changes or additions through change orders and amendments.

Consultation

We’ll have a thorough conversation to align your budget with our building approach and project goals. After agreeing on the project details, sign the pre-construction agreement to start planning the design and layout. Once the design is set, we’ll start the estimating process, creating a budget and assigning allowances for different finishes and selections

Permits & Selections

Once we align on the project scope, we’ll manage the permitting  and project planning. We help you choose your preferred materials and fixtures, such as flooring, countertops, and cabinetry, with guidance from our design team and local vendors.

Schedule & Build

We’ll finalize the budget and create a detailed timeline, breaking the project into phases with specific costs and deadlines. We provide a dedicated project manager, daily logs and offer an optional call or office meeting once a week. Our designers and vendors remain available throughout the build, ensuring a smooth and collaborative process from start to finish.
